National Highways, the authority behind these works, aims to resurface the road, refresh road markings, and replace worn-out studs. However, the timing of the closure has been adjusted to accommodate the football match. Simon Amor, a representative from National Highways, explained, "We are aware of the heavy traffic expected due to the Ipswich Town match and have postponed the full closure to 22:30."
This decision ensures that the road remains open for fans heading to the match, while still allowing for the necessary maintenance to take place. Amor assured that fully signed diversions will be in place, guiding drivers to alternative routes. Despite the delay, Amor emphasized, "We appreciate motorists' patience during this time."
